Great food, gorgeous views and the perfect climate. What's not to love about San Francisco?
Ryan and I were fortunate enough to spend the long 4th of July holiday weekend in the city. It was the first visit for both of us, but it definitely won't be our last. There's so much to discover in San Francisco – there are so many unique districts, each with their own vibe.
We stayed at the Marriott Marquis in Union Square, a convenient spot to almost everything San Francisco has to offer. It was a great experience – we especially loved their fantastic bar, The View Lounge, which boasts gorgeous panoramas of the city.
For convenience (and for fun!) we got 2-day tickets for Big Bus San Francisco. It seems cheesy, but the tours were super informative and the bus got us almost everywhere we wanted to go – from the Painted Ladies to Treasure Island to Saulsalito!
Foodie highlights were Il Casaro in North Beach for mozzarella and pizza, Taquiera El Farolito in the Mission District for authentic mission burritos, Boudin Bakery for the best sourdough in all the land, and authentic dim sum in Chinatown. We literally couldn't pack in enough meals!
Sightseeing highlights were the Ferry Market Building (of course, it was our first stop in SF!), both the Bay Bridge and The Golden Gate (we drove and walked over!), visiting Saulsalito, Land's End, and the gorgeous views of the city from Treasure Island at sunset!
We can't wait to go back to SF!
Until next time,
