Does Absence Truly Make the Heart Grow Fonder? Here's to Hoping!

I owe you all an apology — I never meant to neglect The Cincinnista, or you, for so long. I love this little project that I’ve started and hate that I’ve allowed myself to abandon it for several months. Honestly, this has been a transformational few months for me personally, and I needed some time away to focus on myself. I hope you’ll forgive me!

The last time we spoke I was really struggling. I began dealing with a very severe case of sciatic nerve pain back in December, and I finally began physical therapy in March, around the time I dropped off the face of the blogasphere. I owe a lot to the Mt. Lookout Chiropractic & Sports Injury Center, and especially Dr. Nagel and her team of physical therapists. When I began PT, I was feeling totally helpless. I was having trouble walking and getting through my daily routine was incredibly hard. Over months of therapy, Dr. Nagel really gave me my life back, and I’m so grateful!

Besides focusing on my health, I’ve also been focusing on my career. In March, I made a big change by taking a position at an immensely cool ad agency downtown. My new role in content marketing is incredibly challenging and exciting, and I’ve been having an absolute blast learning from and working with my new team members.

Since I was having trouble walking, and my new role at the agency has been a bit more demanding, coming up with content to share with you over the past few months has been tricky. I had to put The Cincinnista on the backburner for a little while, as I figured it all out.

The good news? I’m back! I’m walking, exploring, and adventuring around our beautiful city once again! I can’t wait to begin sharing my favorite places and spaces with you once more.

Here are some snapshots of some of my favorite things from the past few months:

Earlier this month, when I was finally starting to feel better, I enjoyed a little staycation with family:

And I promise, there is more to come — and soon! I’m excited to move on to a much better time in my life, and to continue to share my adventures with you!

Until next time,
